Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth. Full dentures provide a comprehensive solution if you’re missing all of your natural teeth.  Partial dentures replace a few missing teeth to fill gaps and improve chewing function.  Treatment with full or partial dentures is designed specifically for each patient, and Dr. Weaver can guide you towards the option that works best for you.

Full Dentures (conventional and implant-supported)

Tooth decay or gum disease can become unmanageable and result in severe damage. After careful discussion, the decision to remove your existing teeth in one or both jaws may be the best decision. Regardless of the situation, full dentures present an economical and efficient way to restore your chewing and smile.

A full denture consists of a thin acrylic material that sits over the gum tissue and is the same pink color as your mouth lining. Replacement teeth bonded into the base give the natural appearance of teeth emerging from the gums. Your smile is uniquely yours, and Dr. Weaver draws on experience to help you select the teeth that appear most harmonious in your smile. This freedom allows you to customize the way you look. So whether you want a "new" smile or just want to replicate the one you had, we have the flexibility to help you.

While regular dentures record a long history of successful use, modern technology brings new options to enhance the fit, security, and appearance of all denture types. In many cases, dentures can be secured more firmly to your jaw with the use of dental implants, which are placed in the jaw and connect to the base of the denture. This connection can be designed to either permanently fix the denture in place or to allow for occasional removal. In addition to having better retention and a more natural appearance, implant-supported dentures tend to last longer. Dr. Weaver will cover these options and discuss the ways they can improve your experience with dentures.

Partial Dentures

Whether you've lost one tooth or several, chewing and smiling can become more difficult due to annoying gaps between teeth. Partial dentures are an economical solution to replace the missing teeth and fill in the spaces, improving chewing ability and your confidence to smile. A well-made partial denture will also help keep your natural teeth from moving, lowering the risk of losing those teeth in the future.

Most partial dentures are created with a thin metal framework that’s designed to rest close to your gums and have a smooth, streamlined feel. Your natural teeth support the framework and support a stable, secure appliance that’s easy to use. Where teeth are missing, replacement teeth are attached to the frame. Gum-colored acrylic blends to both the teeth and framework. Your mouth and needs are unique, and Dr. Weaver works with experienced technicians to create a solution that is comfortable and esthetic.

Thanks to advances in dental research, implants can also be used to support removable partial dentures.  This dependable addition improves the fit while reducing the size of the appliance.  Dentures bring a few inherent challenges, especially to new wearers.  But at Dentiste, our goal is to minimize the common frustrations to the fewest possible while enhancing the quality of your life.

We look forward to discussing your options to make your mouth full again and to give you back a confident, glowing smile!
